Christy Gorigoita is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience in the hybrid world of arts and science.  She obtained her doctorate from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Sheppard Pratt Hospital. She has additional training and specialization in:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR/EMDRIA)

  • Mindful Based Stress Reduction (The Myrna Brind Center for MindfulnessThomas Jefferson University)

  • Meditation & Nature-Based Interventions (Barre Insight Meditation Center);

  • Climate & Health Psychology (Yale School of Public Health)​

  • Aerial Dance Philadelphia School of Circus Arts (PSCA),  New England Center for the Circus Arts (NCAA), Air Bernasconi 

  • Therapeutic Training in the Context of Circus Arts (Circus Arts Institute)

Dr. Christy's clients develop emotional and behavioral self-inquiry tools to help them find their own truth, skills and meaning as part of the healing process.  In addition to EMDR, she encourages Awareness and Movement Practices as a door to move from clinical symptoms and harming lifestyle choices to a state of self-regulation.

​​In addition to her clinical work at West End Counseling & Wellness, LLC (WECW), Dr. Gorigoitia supports prevention and intervention initiatives in higher education institutions, including Circadium School of Circus Arts. She also provides concierge consultation and training services to the private arts sector through Aerial Mind.  With a professional focus on Public Health, she is a community advocate and active member of the Climate Change Psychiatry and Psychology Alliance and our local Lehigh County Environmental Advisory Council. She brings the intersection of mental health and climate change to all local political circles to ensure fair policy-making and attention to the well-being of our communities.​​​​​​​​
