Deidre Folk, MA
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

The greatest gift you can give someone is the space to be his or her authentic self.

Deidre works with adults, children, adolescents, families and couples. She believes that every person comes with a unique story, strengths, and challenges. She will work collaboratively with you to clarify meaningful goals, whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, ADHD, parenting stress, or navigating life transitions. Her approach blends empathic listening, practical strategies, and a touch of humor to make growth feel grounded and attainable.
Deidre understands that therapy can feel unfamiliar, especially if you're used to pushing through, staying busy, or being the one others rely on. Slowing down, reflecting, or opening up might not come naturally, particularly when you're focused on managing responsibilities or getting through the day. Her work with you will be personalized, structured and practical to help the process feel more comfortable and effective. She will help you manage stress, improve focus, and navigate challenges without losing your sense of direction. Therapy will often include quieting self-criticism, strengthening resilience, and building sustainable habits so you can feel more balanced and in control.
For parents, Deidre understands how heavy this role can feel. Whether you are navigating behavioral challenges, ADHD, emotional regulation concerns, or the constant mental load of caregiving, she focuses on practical tools you can use immediately at home. At the same time, she will make space for your own stress, frustration, and self-doubt - because caring for yourself is directly connected to caring for your family.
Deidre uses evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and to develop realistic strategies you can apply in daily life. She also draws from a person-centered foundation, creating a supportive space where you feel understood while moving forward with clarity and intention.
